Happy Halloween! Ever wondered how to make your own fake blood? Well I've got a recipe for you! It may be expensive/difficult to find fake blood in shops so I have a simple & quick recipe to create the most real looking fake blood ever. And all the ingredients could be found around the house. I learnt this recipe for fake blood from a makeup artist who has worked on many different movie sets such as Pirates of the Caribbean. Which is pretty cool. So that's how you know this recipe is one of the best recipes you could find. This fake blood is perfect for scaring your friends and family or using it for makeup on Halloween. The 3 2 1 Fake Blood recipe You will need: Three 350g Golden Syrup Jars Three Rose Pink food colouring Two yellow food colouring One or two drops of blue food colouring And all you have to do is mix these altogether in a bucket/bowl. You can also use honey or maple syrup as a replacement for golden syrup. The more blue food colouring drops you use the darker the blood will be, but just mix the drops in one at a time until you get the perfect colour. This fake blood is completely edible and it tastes really yummy! But maybe use gloves while making the recipe incase the food colouring stains your hands... If you want to make less blood, then just use one jar of syrup or honey, or even half a jar and then add less food colouring. It works just as well with less syrup. I used this fake blood in my Halloween joker/clown makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel so if you'd like to see how the blood turns out then click the photo below! Thankyou for reading!
Let me know in the comments what you'll be using the fake blood for and also what you'll be getting up to this Halloween, I'd love to know! Have a fun & safe Halloween. Mia x

Hey guys! It was my birthday on Tuesday (20th October) & I turned 18! Still can't believe I am officially an adult... Not ready for the responsibilities at all. Anyway, I wanted to share what I got for my birthday since I am so grateful for everything I got. Disclaimer: In no way am I bragging or showing off in this blog post, I just love seeing what other people got for their birthdays so I thought it would be fun to share. First of all, my mum got a hotel for me and my friends to stay in over the weekend in Brisbane so we could go clubbing in the city! So that was my main present. Next is this necklace my mum bought for me which I have been wanting for ages, not sure what outfit to pair it with yet but am very excited to wear it as I don't have anything like it. Flowers! So many people bought me flowers, these were the only ones still looking alive when I took this photo, but aren't they gorgeous! I thought this little piggy bank was sooo cute so I had to include it. Next is some jewellery I got from my dad and step mum which I adore! I'm currently obsessed with rose gold jewellery and now I have even more. Mimco is one of my favourite stores at the moment. I got these earrings which I have been wearing to death, they are part of the limited edition collection. Then I got a matching bracelet and ring, which are stunning! They both say Mimco and the bracelet has the Mimco logo on them too which is so cute. I also got an outfit from Kookai that I don't have a photo of that my mum bought me for my birthday weekend. My relatives all sent me cards with a little surprise of $ inside. Which I'm so thankful for.
There are a few more presents that I haven't gotten yet so I don't have photos of unfortunately. So I'm going to end this blog post here. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got for my 18th. I have had an amazing weekend with my friends in Brisbane and am very excited for the following year of being 18. Thankyou for reading! Mia x Hi everyone, welcome back to another blog post. Today I went shopping and bought a few products from NYX cosmetics. I have only ever heard good reviews of NYX products and have been wanting to check them out for sooo long. So finally I did, since it was 30% off (most cosmetics) at Target. NYX products are already pretty cheap but I ended up getting all four products for about $25, which is amazing value for money. Let's start with my favourite item I picked up, it is the NYX Hot Singles Eyeshadow in Heat. I have no eyeshadows like this one and it is gorgeous, I couldn't leave the shop without it! It's such a pigmented shade, it's very shimmery & warm toned. I can't wait to wear this shade and do a makeup tutorial for my YouTube channel using this eyeshadow. The next product I picked up is the Soft Matte Lip Cream in the colour Istanbul. This is a very pink liquid lipstick. The consistency is super smooth and creamy but dries matte. It doesn't dry out your lips which is perfect! These next to products are the Roll On Shimmers. They are so sparkly and would look stunning on the eyes, on their own or blended out with other shades. Also cannot wait to try these soon! I love shimmery eyeshadows. First is the colour Chestnut and second is Walnut. Walnut is slightly less pigmented but would look nice over the top of a matte eyeshadow to add a little sparkle. That's all the products I bought! I need more NYX products to add to my collection! What NYX products would you reccommend?
Overall all of these products give incredible colour pay off and are a great price. Can't believe these are drugstore products! Hope you enjoyed my little review of NYX makeup, what do you think of their cosmetics? And what is your favourite product from NYX? Let me know in the comments :) Mia x Click photo above to watch my YouTube video :) I love buying new things and nothing makes me more excited then sharing my purchases. I don't often go on shopping sprees, but when I do I make the most of it. I bought a few makeup products, a few pieces of clothing and accessories and some hair related items. So if you'd like to see what I bought then please keep reading! I bought two things from my favourite store at the moment - Dissh. As far as I am aware Dissh is only in Australia. I bought this black wide rimmed hat which is the perfect shape for my head. For once a hat actually suits me, so I had to buy it! I also bought a pair of black denim shorts, because I only have one pair of denim shorts in my wardrobe that I wear. And I feel that denim shorts are an essential item for the warmer seasons. Hat: http://www.dissh.com.au/product.aspx?id=1628 Shorts: http://www.dissh.com.au/product.aspx?id=7265 This pair of swimmers was bought from city beach, I don't usually buy matching bikini's because I like to mix and match them. The top has this beautiful green leaves pattern which I adore! I love colourful swimmers. And the bottoms have cut outs which I thought were a little different to your average black swimmer bottoms, they will also go with lots of other swimmer tops I own. (Sorry I couldn't find links for these items on City Beach's online store...) :( I bought a pair of thongs (flip flops/jandals/whatever you call them depending on where you're from) and a pair of sandals from Rubi Shoes as I don't really own any. And since it's getting a lot warmer here in Australia, I thought they would both be perfect for the beach. The sandals are a suede material and have the cutest little tassels on them! I think it is the favourite thing I bought because I have been obsessed with this style of the tie up at the front. It's super light material; perfect for Summer. Top: http://www.generalpants.com.au/shop-womens/don%27t-ask-amanda/fashion-tops/tie-front-boho-top-black-1000057736-001 Now moving on to the beauty products. I bought the Batiste Dry Shampoo in coconut & exotic tropical. This is my favourite dry shampoo, it works so much better then the other expensive brands of dry shampoo I've tried. It's so affordable. Dry shampoo: https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/batiste/batiste-dry-shampoo-tropical-400-ml I thought I'd try out the Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner as I have heard amazing reviews about how good this product is for your hair. I have ombre hair which makes the ends of my hair quite dry, hopefully this will put some moisture back into my hair. Can't wait to try it out! Conditioner: https://www.priceline.com.au/ogx-luxurious-moroccan-argan-creme-conditioner-385-ml I've also heard some really good reviews about the Tangle Teezer, it is an expensive price for a brush but it is really good. Not sure if it is really worth its price, however it does work to brush out hair spray so that you don't have to wash your hair after using it. This is 'The Original' Tangle Teezer. Brush: https://www.priceline.com.au/tangle-teezer-original-panther-black-1-ea Yay, time for makeup! I bought a bunch of different eyeliners as I had ran out of all of them. From Maybelline New York I bought the Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, this stuff runs out really quickly but I still love it. Then I also got the double sided Big Eyes Liner, one side is black and the other is white. Double sided pencil: https://www.priceline.com.au/maybelline-big-eyes-liner-3-g Liquid eyeliner: https://www.priceline.com.au/maybelline-master-precise-liner-in-blackest-black-0-5-g Up next is the Essence (cheap as chips makeup brand) Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Hot Chocolate. I've been really into brown eyeliner at the moment as it is a little less harsh compared to black eyeliner. This particular brown eyeliner is very creamy and pigmented! (I'm wearing it in these photos) Brown eyeliner: https://www.priceline.com.au/essence-long-lasting-eye-pencil-0-3-g I've also been obsessed with brown lipstick so I picked up the Mac Lipstick in Taupe. I'm wearing it in this colour, it appears a bit darker on my lips then in the stick, however I also used brown lip liner. I love the quality of Mac lipsticks and I can't wait to wear this one. Lipstick: http://www.maccosmetics.com.au/product/shaded/168/310/Products/Lips/Lipstick/Lipstick/index.tmpl I needed a new pair of lashes so I just bought the Ardell Natural lashes in 120 Demi. These are similar to the Mac lashes I always buy but a whole lot cheaper. They are a flattering shape for my eyes are a very fluttery & wispy. Lashes: https://www.priceline.com.au/ardell-fashion-lashes-120-demi-black-1-pair I have been wanting to try out this concealer for ages as a lot of people use it and say good things about it. It's the Maybelline New York Age Rewind Eraser. It has a sponge applicator which is a little unusual yet interesting. I'll let you know what I think of it in upcoming tutorials on my YouTube channel. Concealer: https://www.priceline.com.au/maybelline-instant-age-rewind-eraser-concealer-5-9-ml Last but not least, I had to pick some Bondi Sands Fake Tan as I used up my last one. I always come back to this tan as it is my favourite. Fake tan: https://www.priceline.com.au/bondi-sands-bondi-sands-self-tanning-lotion-dark-200-ml Thanks for reading, leave me comments on your favourite item I bought in this haul :) Mia x Hi again! Welcome back to my blog. Hope you are enjoying my blog so far. Thanks so much for reading. I recently bought the Too Faced Cat Eye Palette and thought I would do a review of it. Just in case anyone was thinking of buying it. I own two other Too Faced eyeshadow palettes and I adore them. I have the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar. They both have very pigmented colours that are long-lasting and beautiful. So I wanted to buy another palette since I love the other two so much. It has in total nine different colours. Three of the colours can be used both wet and dry and the rest are just dry powders. The colours are split into three sections: - Day: Purrr, Tiger's Eye & Leopard - Classic: Meow, Pussy Cat & Jungle Love - Fashion: Kitten, Kitty Glitter & Panther The colours Leopard, Jungle Love & Panther are the wet & dry colours. The palette is the perfect travel size and has a small mirror inside as well. Isn't the packaging gorgeous!? I always love Too Faced packaging! The palette, like all Too Faced palettes, comes with a how-to guide on applying the eyeshadows with three different looks. I think this is great for inspiration and makeup beginners. I swatched the eyeshadows below so you can see how they look on the skin. The purple colour called Pussy Cat is my favourite because it is so different and not something everyone would wear, it is also one of the most pigmented shadows. The product is AUD $48. Pretty pricey for such a small product if you ask me. However most eyeshadow palettes in Mecca are over AUD $50... My final thoughts on this product, it's something a little different. I like how it has both matte and shimmery colours. It includes something for an every day look and for a going-out night time look. It easily fits in my makeup bag which is perfect if you're on the go. I ♡ it. Do you like Too Faced products? If so, would you buy this palette? If you already own it, what is your opinion on it? Until next time, Mia x |
