I'm sitting in my bedroom with this page open wondering what I should write about for this weeks blog post. Sometimes I struggle to feel inspired! Whether it's to do with everyday life like feeling motivated enough to clean your room, do some exercise, or to do your homework and just get things done during the day.
Motivation is something I struggle with, especially if it's something I don't really feel like doing. If I don't feel like doing it I don't usually force myself to do it. Which for the most part is a bad trait, it's something I need to work on. For example, right now I should be doing some research for my job interview tomorrow, or I should be doing my daily workout - both of which I am putting off and procrastinating. For me, when I feel unmotivated to write a blog post - I will go onto some of my favourite blogs such as Zoella or InTheFrow. I read some of their posts and usually that helps to inspire me to write my own post because I aspire to have a blog one day as incredible as their blogs. In everyday life, music inspires me most of the time to clean or hang the washing (my least favourite chore). How boring is cleaning without music? When you've got music blasting while you mop the floors, it definitely brightens the mood and means you can dance around while you do mop - as long as you don't slip. I get motivated to decorate my room by looking on Pinterest, I get inspired to get my dream body by looking at fitness pages on Instagram. I guess you have to figure out what works for you, I still struggle with inspiring myself on an everyday basis. My biggest tip in getting motivated is to think about your end goal - how is doing your homework going to help you in the future? You won't get a detention from your teacher, you will pass your test, you will graduate, you will get into university. How is doing this workout going to improve you? You will be an overall healthy person, you will burn off those Easter eggs you ate over the holiday, you will feel energised, you will probably live longer. Remember that the only person in charge of your life is you and you can do anything you put your mind to. So I'm going to leave you with a few quotes that I like to live my life by. I hope this helps to inspire you. "The best way to predict your future is to create it." "Nothing worth having comes easy." "When you think about quitting, think about why you started." "Dreams don't work unless you do." Leave some of your favourite motivational quotes below. Thanks for reading. Mia x

Hi everyone! I felt like sharing my eye-shadow palette collection this week, I think my collection is starting to grow and I would love to share what I love and hate about the palettes I've spent my money on. I own four high end palettes and three drugstore. I tend to save up and ask for more expensive palettes my birthday/Christmas because they tend to be higher quality and have better pigmentation. I'll compare the drugstore and high end palettes in this post in more detail. Let's start with my favourite palettes I own, which are (of course) the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes. I can't decide which palette I like better out of these two because in each palette there is plenty of shades I can't live without. Both palettes come with 16 shades and smell like CHOCOLATE! Yum. Let's start with the Original Chocolate Bar Palette. As you can see the most used colour is Salted Caramel which is my ultimate favourite crease colour, blends so smoothly and I live for a warm colour in the crease. I often use Marzipan on my lid as a bright/eye-opening shade. Marzipan looks good on everyone! Creme Brûlée is another favourite, I love this on the lid too for a dramatic gold smokey eye, I use this with Semi-Sweet or Cherry Cordial. I just love the consistency of these eyeshadows and the range of colours are perfect for all occasions. Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar As soon as Too Faced released this palette I sped down to shops to pick it up. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and now that I do I never want to do my makeup without it. My most used colours look to be Truffled and Peanut Butter. I'm not sure what happened to pink sugar but it went a bit brown? Maybe from the other colours... Anyway, Peanut Butter is an amazing shade, perfect for an everyday eyeshadow look whether on its own all over the lid and crease or blended into the crease with Butter Pecan on the lid. I love the colours Caramel and Bon Bon - such unique gold shades! The matte black colour (Licorice) is so pigmented and dark which is what you want with a black shade. I don't tend to use the colours Rum Raise, Puddin' or Hot Fudge because they are quite cool tones and I'm more of a warm toned girl. Overall these palettes are my absolute holy grails, such creamy eyeshadows that smell amazing as they are infused with cocoa powder. I own one more Too Faced palette which is the Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette. It is smaller then the Chocolate Bars and would be perfect for travel. I don't use this palette on an every day basis but I love using it for something different, Three of the colours can be used wet or dry which is great because they are highly pigmented when wet. My favourite colours are Tiger's Eye & Pussy Cat. The quality of these shadows are just as incredible as the other Too Faced palettes. Zoeva 88 Eye Shadow Palette This is my largest palette by far, with 88 eyeshadows in it in every colour you could imagine. I love experimenting with these colours and creating some different eyeshadow looks. This palette is great for a makeup artist to have in their collection. I love the range of shadows in this palette, from neutrals and everyday shades to out there/bright colours. I didn't swatch every colour because that would've taken a very long time... My favourite colours in this palette are the reds and purples. These shades are way more pigmented when used with Mac Fix Plus. Now let's move onto the drug store palettes and compare! The Nudes Palette by Maybelline This pocket sized palette comes with fourteen neutral shadows. It comes with a mixture of shimmery shades and matte shades. My favourite shades are the shimmery gold and the matte black. Unfortunately I don't use this palette as much anymore because I don't like the cool toned shades in this palette and it has quite a few. However I do recommend this palette because it is high quality and has a very good pigment for a drugstore palette. I have two Chi Chi palettes that are quite similar but are my next favourite palettes after the Too Faced Chocolate Bars. The only reason I don't like them more then the Too Faced palette is because they don't have as large range of colours. However they are the best drug store palettes I've ever used. Chi Chi Timeless Palette This has almost all warm tones with a mixture of shimmery and matte shades. They are so creamy and pigmented! My favourite colour is the shimmy pink shade 4th from the left, I used it in my Valentines Day Makeup Tutorial and it looked beautiful. I love the warm maroon and browns, the shimmery highlighting colours are perfect for the brow bone and inner corner. I actually like the cool toned silver in this palette which is surprising! Chi Chi Mochas Palette This palette, like the Timeless palette, has lots of warm browns and maroons - shimmery and matte. I like the two shimmery pinks for Spring and I could use this palette every day. I highly recommend these Chi Chi palettes! That's all the eyeshadow palettes I have to share today, I can't wait to try more! If you have any palette reccommentations please let me know in the comments :)
I hope you enjoyed reading about these eyeshadows. I hope this helps you choose your next palette. If you're on a budget I'd recommend the Chi Chi palettes (only AUD$20) and if you have the money to spend or have a birthday coming up I'd go for one of the Chocolate Bar palettes (AUD$78). Just go into your closest Too Faced stand and smell them! You'll fall in love. Thank you for reading! Mia x Time for another foundation review! I picked up the Loreal Paris Infallible foundation recently so here are my thoughts on it! I've heard a few good reviews on this foundation which is what urged me to pick it up. I also wanted a foundation that I could wear everyday that wasn't too expensive, so I can save my high end/more expensive foundations for special occasions. About The Brand Loreal is a very successful beauty brand, they own many other different beauty brands such as YSL beauty, Giorgio Armani & Urban Decay; just to name a few. The Loreal Paris brand sells good quality drug store makeup products internationally. Do they test on animals? I'm not entirely sure... I did a bit of research and apparently they stopped testing on animals in 1993, however they source products from China and their factories test on animals. So technically Loreal does test on animals, which I was unaware of until recently and is extremely upsetting. Packaging This foundation comes in a plastic tube which is less luxurious then a glass bottle however much more safe because you know it won't smash. It is the perfect size for travel, I like the way it dispenses the foundation and it comes with 35mL. Which is 5 more mL then a normal foundation - score! Colour Range It comes in 7 different shades which isn't a lot. But for a drug store foundation this is expected. They have a mixture of yellow & pink undertones. (I read somewhere that the US has 12 shades available, why did we only get 7?) I bought it in the colour 22 Radiant Beige if you're wondering! Cost
Usually AUD$29.95 but has been marked down to AUD$20.96, not sure if the price will change again so get it while it's cheap! Foundation Summary Matte Long Lasting Light Weight Fragrance Free Light to Medium Coverage Buildable Coverage Non-cakey Review I enjoy wearing this foundation, I am usually not a matte foundation girl although after using this I can say I love the effect it creates. I have normal skin so it doesn't make my skin feel dry or patchy. I pair it with the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm and it stays on all day without fading or sinking into any pores. If I feel like having a more dewy finish with this foundation I use my Models Prefer Liquid Light primer beforehand. It blends easily with a foundation brush or damp sponge and I do not tend to powder my face when I wear this. I haven't found myself touching up my foundation throughout the day so it is definitely a long lasting foundation as it says it lasts 24 hours. I haven't worn it for 24 hours before (will I ever? Probably not) but it stays looking flawless all day. I did find it oxidised slightly on my forehead the first time I wore it but hasn't done that again since surprisingly. This isn't full coverage so it is perfect for the everyday makeup look. You can build up the coverage with another pump or two. Final Thoughts The only bad things I can say about this foundation is it oxidising slightly on my forehead (which only happened once oddly enough). It sunk into my expression lines on my forehead but it easily blended away if I went over them with a foundation brush, sponge or even a bit of powder. I don't think this foundation would be suitable for dry skin as it is matte but test it out with a moisturising primer if you would like; I'd be interested to see how that'd go. Finally, I love this foundation and I can see myself repurchasing this in the future. I gives me good coverage and doesn't fade throughout the day which is important to me. I highly recommend this foundation for anyone with normal - oily skin types. I love testing out foundations and letting you guys know what I think about them so I hope you found this helpful! Let me know if you have tried out this foundation and your opinions on it in the comments below :) As always, thank you for reading and I'll be back with another blog post soon! Mia x P.S I made a FaceBook page - please go like it to receive updates when I upload a YouTube video or post a blog post :) Click button below! Wait... It's already March!? Are you sure? It's crazy how fast 2016 is going. But now that it's March, it's time for another monthly favourites! These are one of my favourite blog posts to write, who doesn't like talking about their favourite things? Let's get straight into it! First up, this flat top foundation brush from Crown Brush. This came in a set I got from Crown Brush and it has to be one of the best brushes I've received. Of course I still love to apply foundation with beauty blenders or sponges, HOWEVER I have been using this brush lately and it gives such a flawless finish to my foundation. Can't recommend it enough! My holy grail mascara right now is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. Everything about it is amazing. Great brush, dark black colour and lashes so long without transferring. It is comfortable to hold and gets every single lash to behave and makes them look like false lashes! Love it so so much. Urban Decay is a well-loved brand to many, I especially love their Baked Bronzer in Gilded. I've been using it to add some shimmer and sheen over the top of my matte bronzer, it makes a nice blush too! I had to include it in my favourites, it definitely doesn't have enough people raving about it. Mac Prep & Prime Fix+ is a life saver! Works in multiple different ways and I have been loving it this month. I use it before I apply my makeup as a primer, then to set my face after applying makeup. It helps set the powders and make my face look dewy without getting oily. It also works to help the pigmentation of eyeshadows. It's amazing. My favourite eyeliner recently has been the Ingot Gel Liner in 77 (black). It glides on so smoothly and is very long lasting. It dries and stays put all day, which is what I need since I tend to rub my eyes forgetting I have makeup on... I use this to create the perfect winged eyeliner and it is as black as black gets. I have an obsession with false eyelashes. They make any makeup look ten times better! I kept hearing about the Koko Lashes from Lady Moss and ended up buying two beautiful pairs - Misha and Diva. They blend so well with your real lashes and are extremely easy to apply. I ordered them online and they arrived very quickly. They are also quite cheap! Adore these! That's it for makeup products, I have one skincare product to mention. I bought this a few days ago and I can't believe the difference it made in my skin. I have pretty good skin to be honest, I have a normal skin type and I don't often get pimples so most skincare products don't really show a noticeable difference with my skin. However this Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub has made my skin so smooth, soft and dewy. It made it look like I had Mac Soft & Gentle on while wearing no makeup! I couldn't believe how nice this made my skin look after one wash. Moving on to random things... Lately I've been replacing my morning coffee with a Berocca, it has 0 sugar and loads of vitamins! They come in two flavours that honestly taste like soft drink (so yummy) and make my feel energised and awake. I can't go without them anymore! I love the berry flavour, it tastes like creaming soda. Another food related item I've been loving is the Cocobella Choc Almond Super Smoothie. It tastes exactly like chocolate milk yet 100% healthier. I love finding yummy alternatives to unhealthy foods I can't live without. So I thought I'd share this with you guys because it's so refreshing and tasty! Now onto music I've been loving. I use Spotify to listen to music on my laptop and phone and I don't know what I did without it! My favourite songs right now are:
Sia - Cheap Thrills Coldplay ft. Beyonce - Hymn For The Weekend Rihanna, SZA - Consideration Check them out, I'm jamming to them right now as I write this post ;) Follow my Spotify for more cool music - https://open.spotify.com/user/emeliasmith That's it for my February Favourites!
